Armor suspension

Basically, sew it down with fishing line.  Make a series of alining holes, small holes, and thread it through.  If you don't want to poke holes in the model, you can loop the line around the suspension mounting points.  I once bolt down a sherman and after about a day there was a snap when the suspension proved stronger than the hull.

During the building process spring the suspension in various areas,glue it in place,mount the vehicle in the desired placement on your dio and build up the groundcover to match the sprung suspension,freeze in place with white glue and water mix.

Yah, no need to use a bolt...IMHO that's actually a pretty dumb idea. All you really need to do is either just use straight white glue or 5 min epoxy and just plant it to your base. When I do groundwork such as a non street scene, I use tile grout as my "earth", and while it's curing, I just plunk the vehicle right on top, lightly press it in, but not enough to sink it, and once the grout cures, it ain't coming off.

I agree, White glue works fine. My Pak 40 dio fell about four feet, everything fell off exept the Pak 40 which was secured with white glue.

As Sasd suggested, The best thing to do is to build the tank to fit the groundwork. Think about how you want to depict the tank and build the basic form of the groundwork to the desired shape. Then build the tank's suspension to fit the contours of the groundwork. Any gaps between the tracks and the groundwork can be filled in after the tank has been test-fitted to it.

Forget the bolt idea. White glue works just fine.
