Small Flak tank dio

When it comes right down to it, I have to agree that modelling is something we do for our own enjoyment.  So model what you want, with the idea that you are looking to satisfy yourself... After all, for most of us it is a hobby and not a career. 

My hobbies are to please me first.

Thanks! does anyone now how much it is for tamiyas FlakPanzerIV Mobelwagen I found one on ebay but my dad doesnt by anything really off of it so if anyone knows how much it is and where i can find it that would be great.

It doesn't have to be new to be good.  My next dio will be my M5A1 (experiment) with some troops marching past.  should be 10in x 6in.  That's a tired idea.

I don't think he said that it was revolutionary or that we thought of it as revolutionary.

But a scene where a couple of G.I.'s or paratroopers sneaking up on an AA battery have a great diorama potential.If he can pump in the appropriate "action" into the diorama, it can portray a suspenseful scene. And that will make it a bit different than the usual marching, resting, planning dioramas that we often see. No, I am not saying that those dioramas are bad (as I have many like those). All I am saying is it can become eye-catching and different.

 

whether the plan has been used billion times or just once, who cares.   Bottom line, Tankluva, do whatever it pleases you to do.  This idea is more realistic than other ideas that you threw out last few times. I started a diorama like 3 months ago, involving K200, M1A1, K1A1, M2 Bradley and a HMMMV with about 9 figures.  I've built all the kits, but trying to fit all of them into a small confined space didn't work out too well.  Now I am just going to place M1A1 and K1A1 with a HMMMV with about 6 figures.  Some times, I dream about a perfect plan for my diorama, but when I actually start building things, that's when I start making LOTS of revisions.  Point is, things will NOT go according to your original plan.  Nothing is wrong with it, so enjoy the process and learn from your mistakes and make sure your next diorama is better than the one you did before.

And are you thinking of a Flakpanzer or just a Flak 36 or the like?

Go for it, it's at least 3 times better than your others. Stick with this one.

  That might be a more realistic first diorama. I know the feeling, though. You want to do everything big and awesome, swing for the bleachers on your first at bat and all. I think you are setting an easier to reach goal with htis idea. You don't want to get discouraged, right out of the gate on a big dio.

Cartoony or funny dioramas are also good IMHO. Like when you show the other and more humane side of the war.

I think you are on to a good start.. Just a tip. Dioramas showing "action" are hard to come by. If you can make one, that would be something. Even if it is a small diorama, it would be a bit catchy.

I previously made this small diorama with just a jeep and about six figures in a close-in shootout.

Not a great diorama but I think it is a bit different from the usual.

 

Now THAT would be a great start to expand on.  Go for it, dude!
