BTW - Tamiya makes sets of barrels and other assorted stuff like boxes in both 1/72 and 1/48.  I recently picked some up at a local going out of business sale here.

Check out Verlinden.  Kit #1887 - Military Vehicle Stowage and Accessories has 55 gallon drums, crates, and tarps.  They also have a palm tree set in 1/72 since you are doing a Pacific dio.
