Sand density Question.

Hey all,

I am currently in the middle of a project for the Pacific Fighters group build (you can check out my progress HERE). In short the project is going to be of two f4u-1a corsairs staging on an island base. I just had some questions about sand. I wanted to have the area where the corsairs are sitting look like tightly packed sand. The perimeter of the base will then be loose sand where vegetation will be growing. I will obviously do the loose sand by laying the repti-sand out loosely and spraying it with whiteglue/water mix. How would I make the staging area where the corsairs will be sitting look like packed sand? Help and ideas will be appreciated.
