i guess german figures armor and planes dominate over other models because i am pretty much the same as you jt.
been modelling for a long time on and off and i am finally building my first set of U.S. Infantry clearing a bunker desserted by german troops. dont know why it took me so long but it did lol. soon as it is finished will post pics too.

I agree, putting it all together and groundwork is my favorite part. The details and accents: different grass, placing broken wood amid rubble, put a bird's nest in a scratch built tree- I even forgot where it was until I stared at it for a minute.

My next big project will be a grand dio of a battle in an Oosterbeek street. It will feature my first (9) Brits being chased out of town by about a dozen or so Germans. I'm gonna go in reverse for the first time, meaning I will build the ground work first, then construct the figures to conform.

I finally broke down and added an American figure to one of my dios. After about 15 years of modeling, off and on, I finally did my first-ever US figure.

Stay tuned for pics...
