Hi guys,

Managed to get the first groundcoats painted on the resin base.I always coat my dio's firstly in matt black autopaint(straight from the spraycan) then the  following day with a matt grey:

And then my first base colour for the dirt road.Unfortunately with a death of a family member during the week i haven't done much more.

Thanks for the replies, any comments suggestions welcome!

Cheers,Shay

Looks like it'll be an interesting one when done.

Thanks for the link Shay.

Have you made anymore progress with the farm base?

Hi Comet,
I'm also working on the same base at the moment:

The Dioramaworld products are great but not as crisp as a Monroe Perdu or Verlinden, however check out their website here on www.dioramaworld.nl.They've got a great boat coming out soon for a Vietnam dio.

Nice work so far Shay, that's a really interesting base.Does the company have a web site?

I'm currently working on Monro Perdu's sunken road base and I'v got to say the detail is excellent and really crisp.

Hey,
Well i was at it again with my engraver..got the wall on the righthand side done plus the backside also
completed.I also added some bullet holes to the drum and started to do give the fence post some more depth by adding growth lines, chipping the top and adding dents to give it a more natural look.

An aerial view of the base:

And with a horse in the scene that i will probably end up using  somewhere:

I have the rest of Tamiya's farmyard set that i will use plus various resin animals.Going to look in my stash tonight to
look for eventual figures to add to the dio!
Thanks for looking,
Shay

Hi guys,
Inbetween doing a number of things i have started on a new dio.The road below is from the co. Dioramaworld in The Netherlands. The resin itself is great, however not as detailed as you would expect to that of Verlinden or Monroe Perdu etc. However it's a good base that can have alot of potential.
Below is the base itself, the wall on the right can give you an idea of how the resin looks, the wall on the left after a good half hour of scribing more details out with my new engraver.

And a shot of the wall on the right handside that still has to be worked on,looking very plain.

A close up of the left hand wall and an aerial view:

As you can see from the pics,if i'd just left the walls how they were i wouldn't be able to get the desired finish i'm after.I have various farmyard animals that i would like to use in this dio, nothing really plannned but a good excuse to try my new engraver out!

Cheers all,
Shay Smile [:)]
