Also consider styrene from Evergreen and Plastruct, they come in very convenient sizes and can be weathered to look like wood.

Most hobby shops will have a supply of balsa and bass wood.   I prefer the bass wood, as it has a tighter grain and is not as soft as balsa.  Bass wood takes stain and paint better than balsa.  Some shops will also have some cherry and mahogany wood available, in sizes from 1/16" square to 1/8" by 3' wide.

building wood floors,doors and windows

Hello all, I'm looking for info on building wooden floors but damaged, doors. and window frames with broken glass in 1/35 scale.  I picked up a Verlinden ruined farmhouse.  Looking to add this for first time to a diorama. Are there links with pics and stuff or can some of the more experienced modellers out there lend a hint please.  Thickness of plastic for scale, wooden stir sticks and stuff too ? If its in another group ? sorry. Not too up on the whole computer thing. Not sure how I even get this to post...

Thanks for the help.

Cheers.
