1st Dio:"Emergency Strip Maintenance"

You made a very good job,very nice detail and paint job on the bird and on the motors.

The figures could be better,but they are ok.Your overall dio is very good.

Did you find a reference for the 'follow me', or is it your own creation? Love it!

Any chance we can get a photo of the inside of the gun bay hatch?

And just a word on the figures; if they were operating in the Pacific in the summer, chances are they'd be pretty tanned. Still a worthy effort, though. Good job!

Looks like a first-rate job to me.  Figures give me a hard time as well.

Hi Quagmyre This dio is excellent, just the figures let you down slightly. Skip the oil paint - at least in this scale. Invest in some Vallejo paints which are acrylic and are of a very high quality. I am a figure painter and have found them possibly the best for painting good quality figures. They dry dead matt with no sheen or satin finish like some other paints. Check out my post in the figure section (Hawkeye - Woodland Indian). This figure was painted using Vallejo and some Winsor and Newton Artists Acrylics. Obviously this is in a bigger scale (1/16) but you will still get the excellent finish. I hope this bit of advice helps! Once again - a very nice dio!

Thanks for the input Arthur. I'll look into those Vallejo, Winsor, and Newton Artists Acrylics. All the reading I have done on painting figures says to use artists oils, but I just have not been successful at applying the same techniques at 1/48 scale with anything so far.
