bilbirk,

this is a good insight article into the shiver. I've never liked Walmart to begin with and this article is typical among several other reasons why. I don't begrudge anyone from taking advantage of the store, its just not for me.

http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/77/walmart.html

I've found the clear sterilite or rubbermade tubs make nice, dust free storage containers until I either make, or find display cases. They also make it easy to store or move around builds for shows or between in progress projects. A few folks even "rotate" the builds they display keeping the built stash fresh. This also keeps them safe from children, cats, dogs, flooding, industrious cleaners and or those with the propensity to get a little careless looking for the lost library book in the closet.

I'd suggest a normal display case or wall-based one. I'll show some pics to give you the idea :

1. Normal display cases (widthxheightxdepth=120x100x45cm) I use to keep my 1:32 warplanes :

2. Wall-based display cases (widthxheightxdepth=290x240x45cm) I use to keep my 1:35 armors and 1:350 or larger scale warships :

If you have a lot to show, then the wall-based ones would be a better choice. You may increase its depth to, say, 55 or 60 cm to accommodate A-10/Su-27/Mi-8 1:32. Good luck!

I make my own cases. I got the idea from a past issue of FSM and now I don't worry about dust. Now I'm gonna try my hand at making a cabinet

I havent found anything afordable enough yet.  For now, I simply dust-off my CF-18 with my airbrush once a month.
