Just a question, what do most of you use for base work and trees. I just use foam for the base and sand and cut it and then I lay a layer of plaster on top. I'm just wondering what everyone else uses. As for trees, I buy a pack of make it yourselfs at my Local train store and use that. I'm just wondering what everyone else uses compared to me. Thanks.

David

P.S. Hobby shipment just came yesterday: 1/72 Italeri F-18 Super Hornet, 1/35 Tamiya Flak 36/37 (88), 1/35 Verlinden Tobruk pit, 1/35 Dragon US AB in Operation Varsity.Yeah!! [yeah]

On the bench:

1/35 Tamiya M26 Pershing-0%

1/144 Minicraft P-38J Lightning-50%

Numerous 1/35 scale figures in various stages if completion.

I've been using high density polyurethane foam. Its the same stuff they use for sandblasted foam signs. I picked up 2 damaged 4' x 8' sheets that were used to protect the other sheets at a local sign supply place. They were free.

I was buying the Woodland Scenics make it yourself trees. Then I just started making my own. I did a little 'how to' on my Fotki page:  http://public.fotki.com/DaveInTheHat/how-i-make-stuff/homade-trees/
