Help finding Navy crash vehicles
Posted by Casper59 on Monday, April 16, 2007 1:58 PM

I have an F-14 in the stash that I want to build with a flight deck base.  I have looked and looked and can not find any crash vehicles for a carrier flight deck.  Any suggestions where I can find this rare critters?

Depends on the scale.  Verlinden makes a couple in 1/32 and 1/48.  Hasegawa does a couple sets in 1/48 and 1/72 as well.

Well that was teh search I did first before asking.  Even after reading the answer I went out and searched for Verlinden catalog and went through the verlinden listings.  No crash vehicles.

So either my search skills are not functioning or I am simply looking in the wrong places.

Thanks for the help

Are you looking for the aircraft crash handling & salvage crane (Tilly) or the P-25 flight deck fire engine.  Fujimi makes the fire engine in 1:72 scale - http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=FU35002 .  Technically the vehicles are the A/S32 P-25 Shipboard firefighting and rescue vehicle; Aircrat crash handling crane is A/S32A-35A or A/S32A-36A.
