South Pacific dio help.
Posted by ww2modeler on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 7:09 PM

Hi all, I'm currently working on an Arifix 1/72 P-38 for the South Pacific GB. I want to make it a dio. I'm planning to have the P-38 sitting on some PSP plating (the hardstand) with a palm tree in the back and to the side. I'm also going to have some PE plants and some other supplies.

The part I'm having trouble with is deciding on which PSP plating to get and which palm tree set to get. Verlinden makes a set of two palm trees with PE leaves but that costs $9 while Pegasus obbies makes a set of 5 for $7. Does anyone have advice on which kit to get.

Now , the PSP plating. Eduard makes a perforated steel display base for $3 but the price makes me wonder about the size of the base. Griffon Model accesories makes a set for $9 and it looks good but the price range is confusing me. Also, Flightpath models makes a set for $12. Does anyone have advice over which set to buy. I'm searching for the one that costs least and/or has greates quality/quanity.

Thanks for the help.

David
