Does anyone know if there are 1:72 scale firemen out there?
I am planning a fire crew rescue diorama of about 1940's - 1960's era. The dio is totally ficticious and will not be a particularly accurate combination of vehicles, figures, props, etc, but I'm just aiming to "tell a story" (not interested in winning any contests).
It's just an idea that's been developing to make use of some old bits & pieces of other models that I no longer have a use for.
I plan to use the PST ZiS-5 fire engine to represent a rural fire service truck, a crashed civil Tiger Moth using an old Airfix model that's occupied the spares bin for the last 30 years, one or two other vehicles and some civilian figures.
But the most critical piece of the dio that I'm missing is the crew for the fire engine. I could "figure bash" them from some military figures, but that sounds like too much work at this stage.
I have done a Google search and only found one possibility (from DOC Models, who I have never heard of) but these seemed to be rather poor quality and their uniforms would require some modification for my requirements.
Anyone have any suggestions?
