Isnt the series out on DVD/Video? Try renting and watching some episodes to get a feel for what you need. Or they show the old episodes on TV.

The entire series is on DVD at walmart, it was up on the front racks at the front of the store where the new releases go.

The Revell model may be from the movie and not the TV episodes. Whioch one are you interested in?
BTW, cool subject interest.

I just got a MASH helicopter and would like to eventually make a diorama myself.  My sister-in-law has all the MASH seasons and I'm going to borrow them to get ideas.  Does anybody make accurate MASH figures like Hawkeye and Radar without buying the old Revell Swamp scene?

good morning ,

thank  you,  stikpusher , patlaborunit1,wasteland.

For the  susgetions on DVD and the  rentals.. money  is an issue now.  so I'll need to  wait ...Ashamed [*^_^*]  was  surpried that  thier  was not  alot  of info on line. regarding  mash sets...?

sprueone; thanks for  the  comments..  The  model, I believe is  based on the  tv show.  Like in it's  run...  Many  sets  on locations  & instudio.. I want to make  the " swamp" with  the  same  shooting  angel inside  the  set  with   back ground  action... I am starting to  set  up the  figures as true  state  of  "lending  aid and  support to  the  wounded.."  My  first  four  test  figures  are  already  showing  grate  results . As  the  tent  set  gets  of  the  ground... I  hope  to  have  the   main  impresion of   starting inside the  swamp..   Seeing   wounded  arive  from the  aid stations triage.

hello Vassar 13,

I do not know  at  this  time  is  accurate models are  produced for  hawkeye  or  otrhers? As  for  the  revell figures i maybe  able to get  copy's made.. for  trade.

The  helicopter's  wounded , riding  out  side  jumpers.. do you  had  any  resources to make  copies of them? ( wounded/ transport  strechers?

Are you setting the  helicopter  up on the  hill? or  over  head  coming in?

thanks nfpa1002

The Revell MASH kits were from the TV series not the movie. The Hawkeye figure was based off of Alan Alda and the Deuce and a Half kit had a Cpl. Klinger figure with it (someone not in the movie). I had the Swamp scene with the old Monogram Jeep kit, Radar driver figure, Hawkeye figure and I think this set came with Hot Lips.

I also had the MASH Deuce and a half (another old Monogram kit) that came with Klinger in a nurse's uniform and Col. Potter. It also included a wounded soldier with another doctor that was either Trapper John or BJ (I forget which character off hand).

I remember getting them on clearance from the Ft. Hood PX in the early 90s for around $2 and change. There was also a MASH helicopter that I did not buy for some reason.

I don't have any particular plans right now.  The helicopter does have the stretchers and it comes with a pilot.  I don't have anything to make copies of them.  I'm hoping to find an ambulance and another jeep, but right now I already have a couple of projects going.

Mom & Pop...store. A  modling  friend  passed away  last  year.  His  son sold his  unbuilt  colection of   1/35 scale  kits...  Over .. 3,000 kits  were  sold the  the  store ... so no limit  on selection.

I  have  found  three  other  strecher in other  kits  so.. it  will come together ... I  ended up  getting   M*A*S*H    dvd..  it's a  start .

any questions you have about this show/camp ill answer it. we have all 11 seasons of mash on dvd. love that show. and it wouldnt be too hard to make a klinger fig either. take a fig, sculpt him some more nose, and give him a dress. the dress shouldnt ba too hard to make

Where did you get an ambulance?  I've been looking all over for one.  I think the interior should be white.  On the Jeep the seats would be more of a khaki color.

Actually the inside of the hospital bus and ambulances on the show were OD green I believe.  If you have the Hallmark channel I believe they have been rerunning the series in syndication for awhile now!

hello Vasser 13 ,

I've  been on other  projects.. I  found  two  italeri 1:35 No.226 Ambulance models at  my local mom and  pop store...I  run accross them from time to  time .. I only  purchsed one ... and ran into a  alignment  problem with  the  front  cab/rear  top section.. I  uesd.020 by.040 styrene to  blend it  in..

on the  progress, I  bought an older mash tent by VP #203 mash tent. I  chose to  make the  second tent  a liner. The  M*A*S*H  tent the outer .. by  combining to two. I  made the  frame.  in  scale  2x4's , fit the  VP #203 to the  frame.  With the  M*A*S*H tent  as the  main exterior.

So... making  the  swamp...itself I  chose to  slice the  tent  from BJ's corner  to  Winchesters  corner  focusing on Hawkeye's  location with  the    "still".   here is my  problem.. in scale.  i made the  boxes and  cabinets.

I  have a  globe    (from a back to  the  future item)  plastic to  cook the ingredients and copper  wire  for the  condenser.

but ... the  glass / glass wear &   frame work  did they  use.

dose  any  one  have  ideas on how to build  them?
