help/advice needed
Posted by wolfie on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 4:13 AM

Hi guys,

Well you've all been so helpful in the past that while thinking up a new idea I kept getting stuck so thought i'd help you for suggestions. I fancy doing something new for me, a diorama based around a navel base, the ships, carriers, etc are all simple enough but what I am after is ideas about accessories.  1/700 is the only scale I have found where you can buy a crane but thats it, I am looking to make a bit more of a port than just that, buildings, vehicles, etc, any ideas will be very much appreciated.

Wolfie.

Tamiya makes a set in 1/700 with a crane, warehouse, oil tank, pier, bouys...

Aoshima also makes a similar, possibly identical set in the same scale as well as a set of harbor support vessels:tugboats, motorboats, freighters, etc.

Fujimi makes a set of tugs.

Great Models shows most of these sets on their site but many are discontinued or hard to find.

Or try this site... all sorts of good stuff here

thanks,

those are some great ideas, found somewhere else now that sells harbour walls and tug boats. all i need are the impossible little vehicles and some people and i think people in 1/700 might be near impossible!

For 1/700 people, try some of the photo etch makers such as White Ensign, Tom's Modelworks, or Gold Medal Models. I know they make 350th scale figures. Perhaps they do the smaller ones also
