I read about this in the Osprey book on Terrian Modeling does anyone know where I can buy this in the United States?  Or, if there is a shop in the UK where shipping isn't too bad?  It looks very nice and I'ld really like to try it.

I don't know of a specific place that sells it, but I think it is used in upholstry work as a type of padding and in matresses as well.  If you can find some place that makes or repairs furnature, you might be able to get scraps cheap or maybe even free.

Hey, I went on a global search for the stuff after reading that book (Richard Windrow?). After six months I FOUND IT!!Make a Toast [#toast]. It's a British site called Antenocitis. Try here. Down the page a click or two. It's cheap. I bought 10 bricks of it, should last a couple of lifetimes. If they don't have in stock anymore, PM me.

Steve

***EDIT*** - Hey grizz, upon looking at the site again, I see that they don't have any in stock. PM me, I'll hook you up.

Now it says they've got 15 in stock. "It is, literally, rubberized horse hair." How exactly do you rubberize horse hair?

I ordered several blocks from Antenociti as well.  I ordered some other stuff too.  Shipping across the Atlantic would have been too expensive so I had it sent to my in-laws in Newcastle, and they brought it across when they were over here in August.  There must be other places out there that sell it, but I can't think of any.  Don't be too fussed if they don't have any in stock.  They tend to restock it pretty quickly.
