Ken is one of the very best out there. You could do a lot worse than check out his dioramas and models. While you are there, check out his diner build (in HO scale if you can believe it)

Here's some inspiration for you: Ken Hamilton built this and it was in Scale Auto a few years ago. Tons of detail, a really cool dio, it is what immediately came to mind when I read you post.

Also, both Evergreen and Plastruct make several styles of siding in styrene sheets. Search for their websites and you can do a product search from there, if you can't get it at your LHS.

Thanks for the info. I thought about a smoothe sided and may just go that route. It would be easier. Thanks again

Sounds like an interresting idea. As the owner of a travel trailer myself, I think it would be a great dio.  Plastruct and Evergreen make various sheet styrene in a corrigated pattern.  I'm not sure what size you would need, but they are out there.   You could also do one with smooth siding.  My 1:1 model has fiberglass siding that is smooth.  It would be much easier that way.

Good luck and show us some pics once you get it going.

Camper Trailer Diorama
Posted by guitarnoise on Saturday, May 24, 2008 11:40 AM
I am new to building dioramas. I am thinking of building a scene with a camper trailer in it. I have seen some great looking scratch built scenes with camper trailers in them. I am wondering how to get that corrugated look that camper trailers have. Like, what type styrene sheets mimic that texture best, etc. I can figure out the windows, furniture and all that, but how do you get the outside to look like a 16' travel camper trailer in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. The work I have seen of the people who post here is just outstanding and any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
