Yes, that sounds very likely. Not sure if they did have forklifts back then, i haven't seen any pics of them. But even if they did they wouldn't be avalible all the time.

Confused [%-)]  Part of my dio for the "Heavy Lifters" GB will be an Opel Blitz in Sicily 1943, being unloaded with 200 litre fuel drums bound for the Afrika Korps.  I was thinking about two figures in the back of the truck rolling the drums down two wooden planks, with another two figures on the ground to receive the drums.  The drums would be controlled by ropes held by the soldiers in the rear of the truck.  Would this be a fairly standard way of unloading fuel drums ?  I cant seem to find any reference photos.  I dont know  much about the history of motorised forklifts, dont know if they were used by the Luftwaffe/Wehrmacht or not.  Any advice appreciated.
