Not done this scale before and I may be taking a certain amount of license with the interior colours as it seems every reference pic I find is different so don't kill me...

Great looking kit and start, Dave. But that engine, hoo weeee, theres probably as many parts in the kit as in the real thing. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks mate.

Certain parts are not stuck down properly just yet incase I need to shift anything to get it inside the fuselage. Probably have to do some paint touch ups too.

You may be new to 1/32, but so far, it's a beauty!  I only build in that scale or larger ... eyesight problems ... but I wish mine could look half as good!  Looking forward to more on your Bearcat!

Looking great, so far Cool [8D].  Does the 1/32 have open cowl access?  I built a 1/48 and you can't see anything past the first row of cyclinders.

And are you doing in late war blue or Nam NMF?

Thanks chaps!

You get a clear cowl plus some open panels on the fuselage too. I'm going to mask about two thirds of the cowl and have a clear window on the starboard side.

It'll be blue.

Looking fantastic Dave. The side view really puts the engines size into perspective. Massive.

Nice job so far. I've been thinking about doing something in this scale (Hs 129). I would love to go detail crazy but in the end it boils down to the same old problem. where would I put it when I was done?

Cheers mates.
Ok this is where you think that I've started to lose it just have faith my friends...

Tamiya paints used throughout - field blue

Post shaded with sea blue

Panel fading with medium blue

First coat of clear blue

Another couple of coats of clear blue
Gonna give this the night then decide if it needs anymore - maybe a darker coat perhaps. This has yet to have any kind of gloss coat which will blend the effect and decals will break up the starkness of it.

Got the main decals on, the stencils are next.

I didn't put any more paint on just a couple of coats of Klear which has darkened it nicely. Going for a fairly glossy finish overall of course

Interesting idea on the paint/shading followed by clear blue.  Thanks for the tip, excellent work here!  Hard to believe how fast you are progressing with the build too.  Well done! Approve [^]

Love that paint job! And the build ain't too shabby, neither Wink [;)]

If you have an Ikea near by, check them for a Detolf display case.  Runs about $90 (even though their website says $60), but they're an absolutely beautiful and classy way to display models.
