To Echolmberg,

First and foremost, your "The Monogram Mafia III Group Build" moniker is absolutely awesome.  By the way, I see this term often.  What is a group build?

I'm inspired to know and now understand the complexity of the old Monogram kits.  My entire builds 40 years ago was nothing but Monogram and of Revell WWII Model Aircraft.

I want to build a Tamiya high end P-51 Kit, the one that includes photo-etch parts and pieces hence I'm going to hold off on the RM P-51.  But I will take on the recommendation of a P-47 Thunderbolt/Razorback, as I've never ever built that particular model in neither the Monogram nor the Revell kits form.  I've built only 2 modern jets in my life, an F4 Phantom and a Skyhawk.  Both Monogram products, as you can now see, my passion is of nothing but WWII aircraft.  Mind you, when in 1976 Star Wars, Battle Star Gallactica, and Buck Rodgers in the 21st. Century aired, I've built the X-Wing, C3-PO, and The Battle Star Gallactica Cruiser, fighters and the infamous Cylone attack ships.  In essence, I just might revisit the idea and your valued recommendation of Eagle as a future build.

Yes, your list is invaluable and worth the effort and discipline in moving forward.  I also would like to take this moment and thank you for your time in reading and replying on my thread, this means a great deal to me as I'm overjoyed by all forum members responses.  At the very least, I now get to be thrown in a tank of guppies instead of sharks, thanks to you!

I've read over all of your reply's Toshi. You honor us all. Much respect sir.

I have come here for the same reasons as you have; to learn. I enjoy sharing what I know and if someone would write an all encompassing book it would take years to produce with what little I have learned about the possibilities that are out there.

There is soooo much to learn, and always something you hadn't considered before. I, sir, am still only a student such as yourself. You really do honor me with your comments. Thank you. I would be glad to assist you any time.

Those are very kind words. It really made my day. Your money is no good in any bar I am in.

The recommendation of the P-51B is a very good one. I think it's usually "Shangri La" or something like that. Build a number of green machine kits before you try metal finish. That is really difficult to do, although you'll no doubt get to it one day.

Yes, any help or tips, any time.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
