1/48 A-6 Intruder & B24J
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, December 16, 2002 7:55 PM
Hi, I have recently been successfull in acquiring a Monogram 1/48 AV8B off ebay. I tried to get a B24J but the price went beyond $50 and I couldnt compete. I'm also looking for an A-6 Intruder. Any ideas? Thx in advance. Cool [8D]

I bet if you are patient enough they'll be back again from Revell with new packaging. Maybe even re-tooled as 'Pro-Modeler' kit.

But do you have any idea of how long it will take before Revell release the new A-6?

Well, that does depend on how much of a hurry you're in. Actually waited years for a re-release of the Revell 1/32 Thunderbolt and ended getting an early 70's packaged kit from a hobby shop selling kits on consignment. I don't think that bubble top P-47 has ever been re-issued. Yet the PBY-5A cam back after 5 years.

So far, the A-6 intruder should have been released... I place an order last week at Hannants for this long awaited kit. I can't wait ...

I have a B24J I would sell for $20.00. The box is beat up,and the decals are old, but the kit is in good shape.

The A-6 has not long been reissued as a limited edition, as the previous post mentioned, Hannants here in the UK had only 300 kits, you have to be quick to get one.

Thanks for your information. Hope I am not too late to order. But it certainly takes a long time on its way from England to Taiwan!

HUH??? Is there a link for that? It sounds like just what I need for my old Fujimi kit.

For what it's worth it looks like Revell Germany is coming out with an early model B24 in 1/48 scale.

Wow... that A-6 update kit is kinda pricey; I just might have to get one anyway, with the lack of cockpit detail in that Fujimi kit being what it is(n't). Thanks for the link, Bro.

NP :0)
funny how that works. I've always found the update sets to be 1 1/2 to 2 times the price of the kit, but in the end it always seems worth it.

Not sure about the scale though. But Im sure there is are 2 ITALIERI kits (A6E TRAM and tanker versions). KANGNAM has 1 but its in 1/72. I think REVELL or MONOGRAM also have 1. and of course HASEGAWA surely has 1.

Note: ITALIERI is nice, REVELL/ MONOGRAM not sure it costs a grand up. HASEGAWA has good reputation but then also cost as much as REVELL. KANGNAM ......better look for ITALIERI and others.
