SSM-N-8a Regulus Guided Missile
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, February 22, 2003 11:39 AM
Having been in the US Navy during the time that the Chance Vought Regulus Guided Missile was the Navy"s nuclear deterent weapon I am looking for a model of the aircraft. At one time there was a company that made the model using a wooden fuselage and plastic wings (Strombecker?). If there are any others I would like to know of them and the availability any Regulus model.

Wings magazine did a story on the Regulus in their Dec, 2002 issue. It mentions that in the 50's Revell issued a kit in a fit the box scale. I don't know if you would be able to locate one but the article said the original cost was seventy-nine cents but now worth $150.00. A lot of parts were taken "off the shelf" so it might be possible to scratchbuild one.
