That well well has great detail.

I have the Dragon kit in 1/48th and been delaying putting it together.

There are reports that the HE 162 was in a duel with a mustang and that the mustang pilot recounted that the plane was just as manueverable and good in climbs, in both cases at faster speeds than the mustang. There are also reports that a He 162 shot down a british fighter(don't remember the make/model) near the end of the war, ie. last week/days.

Adding to that the basic Revell kit is the old Frog kit, raised lines no cockpit details no engine nor engine covering or landing gear bays. The total void. The Mistel kit though is based on Dragon only that the PE set is changed to plastic. I have the old Revell / Frog kit but was really cheap and it is not that difficult to produce a good result with a "bit" of work, as fit is really good. The canopy is thick though.

As I recall, a couple of squadrons were indeed formed, and it's rumored that a number of missions were flown against Allied bombers. There are no confirmed kills recorded due to the insane confusion during the last month of the war in Europe, and no one really knows if they even fired a shot in anger.

The plane was NOT easy to fly, so it's original intent - stick some partially trained Hitler Youth in them to supplement the Luftwaffe regulars - was just impossible.

Dragon makes it in 1/48 and 1/72 its wings were made from wood and it had some fantasticaly short time from concept to production but as far as i know none ever flew in combat.

the dragon kits are really nice with open engines and photoetch parts.shouldn t
be too hard to find.Oh and revell makes one as well cheaper but not as good though.
