i've no experience with the kit itself, but i can say it was the last of the 1:24 'superkits' from Airfix and dates from around 1980, as with most of these big kits the closer you can get to the first issue the better it will be, although there are advantages with the new stock like fresh decals and knowing its all there.
i've recently picked up a 1975 1:24 Hurricane for a friend and was impressed to put it mildly ! ( i build in 1:72 so no suprise ) checking 260 parts was'nt much fun tho !

I have two of these kits and built one. They appear accurate at least compared to a book I have. The detail is a little soft but it is a good starting place for a great build. There weren't any unsual build problems. Check out model expo online they have sales for these kits often.

Hi folks ,
Iam considering investing in the old Airfix FW 190 at the IPMS Nationals this coming weekend. Has anyone experience of this kit ? and is it worth it ? accuracy and or build quality wise ?.
Cheers Tony.
