Watching with interest!

This close to the 100th anniversary of powered flight, It's really good to see some flight test work that doesn't involve the latest way of frying people!

Wanted: Giant with standing room on shoulders!

Must be lanky!

It looks like the stuck a canoe to the underside of the nose.

Are you sure it was for the shaped sonic boom trials? Looks to me like they were trying for an amphibious variant! ;-)

Uh, I'm kinda embarassed to admit it, but I kinda like it... The nose reminds me of the F-111. Don't look for me to build it tho:)

Shall we call it the F-5E Pelican?, or Elephant Seal ? can't beleive that they made the the plane soooo ugly well that's aftermarket for you

Sonic F-5E

Hey all,
I thought that this would make an interesting build subject.
This is a highly modified U.S. Navy F-5E and is currently being operated in support of the "Shaped Sonic boom" demonstration programe.
Its fitted w/ a 53ft long fuselage fairing, made up of 22 bulkheads along w/ composite panels. With that it basically lengthens the a/c about 3 ft.
What will NASA think of next... Tongue [:P]
