old Revell 1/32 Phantom F-4 J kit

I've got the bug to get started on that old kit but I can't find good photos on line or published books still in print for those detailed shots of the cockpit, landing gear wells or anything else I am going to overhaul. I've got all the ref. material for the USAF but not the NAVY!

Thanks, and keep modeling, if you have an old kit that you will not put together, give it to a youngster. You will get a big kick out of their reaction. romanoff

Everything on the AF phantoms were the same on the Navy jets with the exception of the rear cockpit and main gear wheels. The Navy Phantoms did not have side consoles in the rear. They did not have a rear stick. The radar antenna hand control was located on a pedestal below the inst panel. I will take some photographs of how the rear cockpit looks and post them. Also the Navy used a probe and drogue type IFR located on the right side of the aircraft, just beside the cockpits. The AF had the flying boom system with the IFR behind the rear cockpit on the back bone. The Navy inboard pylons were a different shape. I think those are included in the kit. That is about the most differences that I can think of now.

I haven't forgot about you. My scanner went tango uniform so I may have to take photographs with digital camera and e-mail them to you, with your permission. Also my 1/1 scale 33 foot camper trailer developed a major water leak that I have been working on.Sad [:(]

Hey, I'm still in the gathering stages for this old kit. After you said the "J" didn't have a control stick in the REO, I remembered that I had a 72 scale in my model/shop room already built. I found a few things out, but if you do have pictures of the real thing or of a kit larger than 72 scale I would be grateful!

If your offer still stands about the pictures, I could use pictures of the landing gear wells and the landing gear. I'm going to add brake line and other misc. electrical lines. Go ahead and send me those thru e-mail. Thanks berny13!
