Im pretty sure most of the A and B's had Curtiss Electrics. But I remember reading somewhere that either the prototypes or some early A's had Hamilton Standards.

If you see any pictures of a C with the really wide bladed pointy props with the cooling cuffs then those are most likely A. O. Smith props. Wierd thing is I remember reading about some P-47s getting A. O. Smith's as a field modification... dont remember where I saw it though.
Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make history.

I may be mistaken. The prop that I need from the Tamiya P-47 Razorback Jug may not be a Curtiss brand, but it sure looks like the props that go on the P-61 Black Widow. One source of mine calls the P-61's props builder "Curtiss". Another says they were made by "Hamilton-Standard". All I know is that the narrow pointed prop assembly that Tamiya supplies, along with the two other styles, is the correct size and shape for the Widow. Sorry about any confusion my request may have caused!

I'm a little confused, are we talking about the P-40, P-47, or P-61?

Dang, how can you not love the Jug? It kept my Dad alive thru three or four crash landings and one bailout! :)

Rangerj,
I have been building models for longer than I care to think about, and this one has to go down as one of my favorites!

Does anybody have a couple of Curtiss P-47 props from the Tamiya T-bolt kit that they can part with? I am going to build a Monogram(oops I mean Revell) P-61 Black Widow and I noticed that the Curtiss prop in the Tamiya kit is a lot better than the ones in the Revell kit.

If anyone has a one that they would care to sell, I would be glad to pay a fair price for it.

In case you do not know which prop I need, it is the narrow, pointed one.

Thanks! And by the way, isn't that Tamiya kit the best kit ever! I do not really like the Jug all that much, but I wanted to build one for an old fighter pilot I met and I may have to build one for myself!
