canopy weathering question

I've just finished painting those darn canopy frames on my P-38F. The problem is that the unpolished and un-futured glass still has an adamantine luster, while the rest of the plane has had hours spent on making it look like it has been sitting around in the north african desert sun and sand between grueling missions and heavy maintenance. Are there any SUBTLE ways to impart a slight haze that looks scale and realistic?
