Hi all:
yesterday at work, I meet the navigator who was on thumper. for those of you who don't know what thumper was, it was the first B-29 to complete it's tour of duty (35 missions). It's like the memphis belle of the pacific.
Any ways, not the fact that he and his crew are a legend in way, the B-29 was also in the same group and squadron that my uncle's B-29 was in. the 497th, 870th Bomb squadron. His B-29 was WereWolf, but was shot down jan 27, 1945 by a Kawasaki Ki-61 "Tony" hein. I don't recall what the japanese fighter pilot's name was.
Any ways I need help with some thing. He asked me to build a model of his B-29. I told him that I could, and would try to get the props to spin, and the lights to turn on.
Does any body have any wiring diagrams and instructions on how to connect 4 pager motors to a switch? What about the power source?
Lastly, does any body have any 1/72 scale decals for Thumper? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. It was great to see the look on this gentlemans face when I told him that I did lots of drawings of his aircraft, and admired him from a very early age.
