WW2 Luftwaffe "Atlantik" camouflage colours suppliers
Posted by dpdelhoyo on Friday, December 12, 2003 11:14 PM
Dear fellow Luftwaffe Modellers:

I'm trying to finish an old 1/72 "Revell" FW200 Kondor in the Atlantik camouflage scheme, which requires colours RLM 72 and RLM 73 (two greens similar to 70 and 71, but "more grey").

The fact is that I can't find which paint brands supply RLM72 and 73.
Can any of you please tell me ALL the modelling paint manufacturers that supply (or supplied) these colours? (because some brands cannot be found in my country).

Thank you very much,
Diego.

Diego Welcome to the Forum

You might want to take a look at www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts.asp

Think you might find what you are looking for there
Good Luck

Diego,
Welcome to the forum. I happened to be going through some
magazines earlier and remembered seeing a WW 2 paint guide. It
is in the October 2002 FSM . Listed below are the paints available.
Hope this helps.

Dear colleagues:
Thanks for the responses to my query. I went to my FSM pile and found the article, I should have done that first.

Regarding the website mentiones in the first reply, it seems that is no longer available . Anyone knows its new URL, or if there is another paints "cross-reference" available?

Best regards and a great Y2004 for all!

You may have to order them from a supplier outside of your country.

I just checked with www.squadron.com and they have those colors in stock. Go to their web page, do a search for paints/thinners, keyword = RLM, and you should find them. Among the different brands I would suggest the old AeroMasters, which is now marketed by a company called "AircraftColors", but for some reason Squadron still lists them as AeroMaster. They are great paints and airbrush well straight from the bottle, but keep in mind that they are "toned down" for scale effect. Personally, I can't tell the difference.

Hope this helps,

stinger

Diego

Just tried the link I sent you and it came right up - Try it again and if it still won't work for you, will try to get it to you a different way.

Thanks a lot Quincy, I've just tried and reached the site without problems (mysteries of the Internet...)
