Whats gonna be under your tree?
Posted by nsclcctl on Monday, December 15, 2003 10:43 AM
Under mine, probably nothing I want to build. I tend to get 1:72nd, I build 1:48. I also tend to get testors or monogram, you know the 9.99 specials. People don't understand why I do what I do but then marvel when they walk in my basement and see the fiunished products. OK, question of the day, what are you hopin Santa has in the bag? This is model wise of course, and I mean plastic models, not the swimsuit kind. For mine, Santa would need a bigger bag, hahahaha.

Man, i would like a Badger 360 and a compressor... but i might be asking too much since i'm probably on Santa's naught list (he checks it twice, don't 'cha know!)! Smile [:)]
If it had to be a model i'd like a 1/8 resin Rei Ayanami kit... i've never done resin before. Of course, I'd settle for cold hard CA$H, thanks. it may seem a but counsumeristic, but hey, i'm an economics major! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

I hope you mean the FR47/48 and not the mk 3.
That is a really tasty kit, while the MK3 is just their old MKV fuselage with new wings and arrestor gear.
The fuselage has raised panel lines, the wings are recessed.
Still, you could do worse - Ive seen the Monogram MK v!

A thousand dollars worth of gifts for the family and Grandmunsters. Now my wife tells me she hasn't finished yet. I hope I find a winning lottery ticket so I can pay for all of this.Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

Head-Lupe with different strength magnifying lenses and build in light, thanks, to the lil' Wife.

Kit-wise not decided most prolly head over to the 2nd-hand Resin shops and see what is left on the shelfs before the New-Year buying rush starts.

Where I come from we normally only give presents to the kids, but since our son is still small we decided on small presents for the adults too. Wink [;)]

2 kits from the Movie american graffitti. The yellow '32 ford and the black 55 chevy. This will be something different since I haven't built a "car" model since my early teens. I do Ships, planes and sci-fi. I had asked for these two so I could enter more catagories in the fair next sept. I want to see how many total ribbons I can win, I had 3 seconds last sept. I Plan on at least one first this year. The competition is tough, but that is a good thing.
I am gonna also try for a sweep in the ship catagory?

I am heading on the 29th to the 2nd-hand Kit shop, do you want me to keep an eye open for a nice Kit of Rei?

Myself still not decided if I hit the resin store or the plastic one, maybe both and see if the Battlestar kit is still there.

Last year, I asked my wife for something to wear & something to play with. She gave me a pair of pants with a hole in the pocket.

Seriously, I've already gotten an early Christmas present - my wife bought me a Sony Cyber-Shot 5 MegaPixel digital camera. I will now be able to post pictures of some of my FEEBLE attempts at model-building on-line. Hopefully, they won't crack the lens......

Hopefully I'll be able to get at least one model or detail set out of my wife. She never knows what to get me. THe last 2 years I buy my own gift and wrap it and put it under the tree. Also trying to get a digital camera so I can post my attempts at model building.

ANY model would be nice; don't remember the last time I got one for Christmas. :(
Alas, no one else here understands that even though I have a lot of unbuilt kits, there is always the one I don't have and NEED! :o

I love that song. I've got it somewhere on an old set of Christmas song casettes from Time-Life. I bought the set just to get that song.

Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope that you all get the models you deserve!!

People say I'm hard to buy for because they think I have too many models. I say over and over, if it floats, flies, or has wheels, is made of plastic, and requires glue and paint, I will love it.

We have an 18 month old Labrador Retreiver who's a house dog, if theres anything under the tree, it will end up buried in the back yard. In fact, our tree doesn't have any decorations for the first four feet because they kept leaving out the doggy door.

My wife is so funny. Last night on my way home from work I stopped off at HobbyTown and bought the Trumpeter 1/32 scale F4U-4 Corsair. I got it home and my wife was like "And who gave you permission to buy that?!?" I said "You did!" She said "Oh yeah..." But then the split second after I pierced the plastic shrink wrap she snapped it out of my hands (an amazing feat in and of itself when it comes to my models), placed it under the tree and said "It's under the tree now! That's sacred ground! You can't open it until Christmas!" Knowing full well that there is no logic that can ever defeat female logic, I left it under the tree and I now have to wait 13 more days before I can open it. My wife is so funny!

I was looking in my wife's "studio" as she calls it (our spare room that has our
computer and all of her different craft stuff that is "off limits" to the rest of the world)
and spied what looked like the word "Tamiya" on the corner of a box poking out of
a bag. I wasn't supposed to be in there, heard her coming,so I had to leave without
sneaking a peek. RATS!!!! Guess I'll find out on Christmas morning.
My greatest gift will be 12 entire days off without anything to do. Let me see, Gee,
what will I do with all that time????Question [?]Evil [}:)]Confused [%-)]Zzz [zzz]

A Hasegawa 1/48 A6M-2 "Pearl Harbor Attacker"...maybe..if I'm lucky. My list originally had a Monogram B-52, Monogram C-47, and a Hellcat as far as models went but I had to cut it down to a half dozen items so most of the models wentSigh [sigh]. Ah well, I have money and a Hobbytown nearbyBig Smile [:D] ! Whatever you guys get, have fun and enjoy the holiday!
