I used it in mine. It mostly fits. I needed to trim it in a few places. The rear bulkhead is too wide to allow the fuselage to fit together, and you can't use the equipment rack that fits behind the pilot's seat as it is too wide. You'll find it necessary to remove all the kit mounting brackets and such. It takes a good deal of dry fitting to mount the cockpit, but is very eye pleasing when done. Remember, the verlinden set is only appropriate for the -1D kit. The F4U-4 had a totally different cockpit with a floor.
Good luck

Also wondering if anyone knows how this cockpit set compares with the new Black Box cockpit set made for the Trumpeter Kit.

Hey ajthomas,
I have the black box interior for the (I think) R/G 32nd Corsair. Hands down the detail is awesome!!
I have used these guys before and each time they have never let me down.
I have used Verlindens interiors but for some reason their detail work is like night and day. Some products are nice, crisp and clean and other items seem that the drying process did not fully dry when they pulled the molds.
But that is only my observation and its up to you my friend. If anything compare the two different mfg's the next time that you go to your LHS.
One thing to point out about Black Box, it is all resin not like VLP, which is a mixed bag of resin and PE. I'm sure you knew that alreadyTongue [:P]
Flaps up, Mike
