finding a tail number

Well i work on F-4's but they are all drones now and i wanna build a model of it as a drone and what it looked like when it was still on active duty cause i just think it would be neat to do. I can't pull the tail number off the top of my head right now i would have to check while i'm work. But i was just wondering if there was a site i could look up the info on this plane at.

No they are old Air Force F-4's

LOL wroper it'll be awhile before this one is a target it's one of our manned flyers.

Aircraft move from unit to unit. When I was stationed at Kadina AB Okinawa, some of the F-4D's we had there came from Thialand, that I and worked on years before. Some of the aircraft were later transfered to Homestead AFB FL. and so was I.

I worked on F-4E's and F-4G's at Spangdahlm AB Germany. Years later most of their aircraft were transfered to George AFB, Ca. when I was there.

To find out where an aircraft has been, go to the Aircraft Records Section. Ask to see the 781 Aircraft Records. It will give you each place where the aircraft was stationed as well as other useful information. You will have to have the serial number. From there you will be able to research the base where it has been and the paint schemes at the time it was there. You might be able to find the aircraft you are looking for in the unit history. Most have on line access.

Thanks berny i'll look tommorow while i'm wat work to see where we hide the aircraft history folders, they hould come in with the jet when arrives here.

you probably have not been here in a while. You might seach the web for acft. serials or go to the USAF Museum site and use the search engine. I found the Duece and all Phantoms my Dad crewed.

What was the tail number of the jet you were looking for? If it ends up that it was stationed at Seymour Johnson either I or a friend of mine probably have a picture of it.

Smitty did you ever find what happened to your dad's old jets? The duece's have come and left the drone world already but we might have his Phantom here.

The duece was destroyed in a rocket attack at Da Nang. This was 1 Jul 65, 3 weeks after leaving Clark AFB. I have the status on all F-4s but one, F-4C 63-666.

My reply should have said 3 weeks after we left Clark. The tail number is 64-666

Eagle do you have any one aircraft from SJ that you might have multiple photos of. Say in the SEA, WA, or E1 schemes? My uncle served from SJ in Nam. When things get better someday I would like to build one for him for Christmas

I have these ones below but they are of an E and not the same jet, the wing used D's in Vietnam with the tailcodes SA, SB, & SC, 334th, 335th, 336th respectively.

I will have to go through my pictures at home to see what else I have.
