I think for a majority of the modellers out there, the 109 is a good starting point to test their skills at painting and decalling the kit. The build is pretty straight forward and the kit can be built rather quickly which may be at an advantage for a group build. If this one goes well, then we can progress to the larger kits like the Corsair or P-47 which are superb kits.
I have any of the G kits available but I am planning on converting the G-10 to G6/AS and painting and marking it as the following aircraft,
Bf 109 G-6/AS “green 5” from 2./Erg. JG 2, Hagenow, Autumn 1944.
I am just waiting for the decals which I heard are being reprinted with red 5's instead of the green 5's due to new information that was discovered about the staffel colours. Regardless, the colour of the aircraft is very interesting.
