Thanks Dave, I found some photos on airliner.net, These aircraft might have been in transit to the paint shop. Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna use the Hasagawa 1/200 for the project.

Hi Stretch, are you sure about that? I don't know for sure. I've worked in air cargo for 24 years. Every conversion I've ever seen with a passanger aircraft involves the airplane being completely torn down, cleaned of contamination, etc. During the process they usually give it a new coat of paint. FedEx and UPS both have a reputation for being very matticulous about this. I haven't seen any MD-11's at UPS and I thought the ones that FedEx were delivered as freighters painted. Going back a few years I think FedEx converted a bunch of DC-10's to freighters. Finding photos of something like that, especially all the way around could be pretty tough. It sure would be an interesting subject though. I'll ask some of my friends and see if they have any ideas.

The best MD-11 on the market is Hasegawa's 1/200 kit. A beauty. You'll need to fill in the side windows, though, for a Cargo plane, and possibly re-scribe the large side door.

I want to build a MD-11 during it's changeover from a pass. jet to a full cargo type. I understand that FedEx and UPS flew these planes mid conversion with tape jobs and unfinished paint. Who makes a model of this subject and any ideas on the project. Many Thanks! ...STRETCH
