That was a hard one, Steve! Lucky I spotted that the antennae was on the wrong side for a T-6... It took me a while to figure it out! Looking forward to Quiz #3...

Thanks!

Alrighty, last week's answer was a day late, this week's is a day early!

We had fourteen responses to this one with three of them being correct.

The three:

schmeter pit

The answer?

It's a North American BC-1. Alotta you thought it was a T-6 Texan (or SNJ or Harvard) and, indeed, it has a family resemblence, but the T-6 was a development of the BC-1. Some things which differentiate the two are the rounded wingtips (as opposed to square for the T-6) and the fabric covered fuselage. I believe later models of the BC-1 had metal fuselages, and I think that some early T-6's may have had fabric-covered ones, but I'm not totally sure on that.

Anyhoo, with all the different variants (some slightly different, some not so slight!) of the same basic airframe it can get confusing if you let it!

Texans and Harvards and Wirraways, oh my! Tongue [:P]

Thanks for the responses and also for the positive feedback on the quiz, whether you had an answer or not!

Oh, Madda, no I haven't been drawing lately. The only thing I've been doing along those lines is some of the leather patches and that's it. (The 4th FG Eagle in my sig is one of them) Haven't even done any building, too many other things to occupy my time! Tongue [:P]

The next quiz will be up before the night is thru...

Merry Christmas to all!

NP on both counts. I like to supply a larger image 'cuz I know that's what I would want. And even though this forum has an auto-resize feature for images, I don't like posting full sized images because the auto-resize has not always worked in the past. Although the bugs seem to have been worked out for a while now... Smile [:)]

Wolf -

Thanks for the enlarged image option.

Hard to believe that little two blade prop could pull that thing!

In case ya'll wanna check out the quiz over at SHF, here's the link.

The quiz here will always be different than the one over there, so for those who like this type of thing it may be worth the time to check it out!

BTW, this week's quiz at SHF isn't really challenging, but it is appropriate for the season...
