The kit is completely Out of the box, except the scrachbuild orange light behind the cockpit, the original was lost. But it was a very challenging build, especially the alumium body color (which is tamiya spray can, not airbrush since it usualy make a better result). thou it is difficult to avoid touching it while it dries.
I keep in mind not to over weather this one like my last build (Monogram P-38 pathfinder) and most sabre where relitively clean, but to add depth, I use a pre-made black wash by "the detailer" to the aircraft and it work great, I also use a gun metal wash on the machine gun holes and at the back of the aircraft. The cockpit detail is far better than my last build (thanks to dry brush) and oil paint for final weathering (dirt, grease stains etc.). Micro sol help alot on the decal, preventing them to defore and stick well to the model, thou, (like I said) the yellow stripe refuse to sink in, but this isn't a big issue, there was somany decals, that I'm not sure if I place them all in the right spot.
I decide to make this one as "the paper tiger" since the lovely smile was just awsome, and I didn't know the sabre was also equipe with missile so I thought, "Why not?"
Well technicaly this is my 3th aircraft (2nd was old Revell's P-40, but I don't have it anymore, gave it to a friend) but I have made many other models, most are tanks from the darkside.
Next build: Turning Tamiya F-15 into a stunning flight position, I don't think I'll be able to fix the black widow, and the voodoo's decals haven't arrived.
Working on: Trumpeter SU-152 (1/35) Trumpeter E-10 (1/35) Heller Somua (1/35)
