Mrs djmodels1999 latest projects...
Posted by djmodels1999 on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 12:08 PM
Just thought I'd update you on my Mrs latest projects... After completing her very first model, Eduard's 1/72 Fokker Dr.I, Burnettie decided to try her hand at Matchbox's 1/72 Henschel Hs-126 and Revell's 1/144 Lochkeed Martin X-35B.

As you can see the Hs-126 is in the painting stage, with the underside blue and the base 'sand' already airbrushed on. It awaits its mottle camouflage...

As to the diminutive kit of the X-35, decaling has so far been successful and it remains to add a few parts and mount the aircraft 'in flight' over a little base.

Looking great so far, Dj. Those kits look like they were made by long-time builders. Great work, Mrs. Dj.

Dj:

PS - Dont teach her everything you know, or else she'll be building the kits and you'll be the one baking the muffins. Trust me, I know! Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

I am so excited I think I will finish my X-35 today! I have the base all finsihsed and ready. My HS-126 is coming along nicely but I am thinking of doing a small diorama instead of just a regular base. I bought another kit yesterday as well. I have quite a ways to go to catch up with Domi, though.

I wouldn't worry about catching up with him on quantity.
The quality already looks pretty good!!!
Keep up the good work, Mrs DJ!!!

Hey great job on that JSF, Mrs DJ!! I didn't realize it was 1/144 until i compared the wood grain on both pictures and checked the scale mentioned above the pic! I'm also trying my hand and brailescale too (just bought a Convair Hustler for the equivallent of 3 dollars!)! Hey, i have a question for the two of you: if you both need the airbrush, who gets to use it first? Tongue [:P]

Well, Blush [:I] to be honest he goes first since I am still only learning and he sets it up for me. I do, however, the painting and I take it all apart and clean it and put it neatly away though! However, for the time being I bow to his expertise and let him go first.
