Mosquito reference
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, December 29, 2003 5:29 PM
Hello all, I need your help.

The tamiya mosquito FB VI (1/48) has a window in the bottom of the fuselage behind the bomb bay, the color reference chart indicates no window there, what option is better? sand the window detail smooth or leave the window in place; in the second case, what is inside the window?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not 100% sure on this but it may be for a camera, the RAF used bombing cameras to estimate the effectivenes of the raids. weather it was fitted to the aircraft you are modeling may have been dependant on the time in its service as some aircraft where fitted with them in service and some on the production line. as i said i am not 100% sure on this but i hope it helps. i'll have a dig around and see what info i can come up with. Yep, it is for a photo-recce camera. Show it only if you are modeling that version.

Thank you for the information, I'm making my research only in the internet and already have nice photos of the bomb bay and the cockpit but nothing about the window, if the camera was optional in the original mosquito; what about the window?, they leave the glass in place or put a wood panel instead?.

My plan is to correct the bomb bay configuration for the FB VI version and that's the reason I'm trying to be accurate.
