Great work, Dj. Nice work splicing the fuselage and dropping the flaps. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Guys..!
The base is simply a A4 sized sheet of foamboard... The runway painted grey, then the 'tile pattern' first marked on with a pencil then painted over with a shaky hand and black paint. The skid marks were done... with black pastels I think (?). The edges were painted black.

As I changed my display in the living room today, I took a few pics of a few good old models...

Here's one of them... It's a MDD MD-11.

This is a conversion from Hasegawa's 1/200 DC-10 kit, completed about 2 months before Hasegawa released its own MD-11 kit (of course!)

The conversion was based on an article in a UK mag called Scale Models International. The decals came from Pals Flight of New Zealand.

The main job was to stretch the fuselage (two DC-10 kits needed!), modify the fin and add the winglets, and, in my case, get the flaps and slats down.

Hope you like it!
