That string is actually still near the top, if you check soon you should see it on the first page of the Aircraft forum!

well, i may have misunderstood the topic title. i thought there was a history on why camoflouge was used. thanks. i have only put three planes togrther, a p-61, spitfire in 1/48, and a hawker typhoon in 1/32. i put camo on the british planes and i used gloss black on the p-61. i have been building off and on for about 15 years, mostly cars. i attempted a b-17, a-10 in 1/48 but tossed them when i moved and the painting wasn't going right. i have almost 100 planes in boxes that still have to be built, but i am waiting to get my own place where i can have a hobby room. i still build cars (mostly trooper) but i was tinkering with camo schemes on the british a/c. on the typhoon i put bare metal on the bottom and camo on the top, just to expieriment with both types of finishes. the spitfire i followed the kit instructions on the camo scheme and it came out alright. thanks for replying. happy modeling.
