I just did a quick search of Great Models webstore

http://www.greatmodels.com

They have Hasegawa's F6F-3 Hellcat in stock for about $20. Kit is #ha 09134 (their stock no.) It may also be available from other retailers (or e-tailers)
Hope this helps ! (nice kit, by the way)

even if the hassy kit is now discontinued there are still loads of them around - i just did a search on evil-bayEvil [}:)], and also found hasegawa's new hellcat release, the hellcat mk.II (royal navy version)...
happy hunting, and let us know what you end up building.

Arii also makes this kit in 1/48 scale. A very good kit, too. I don't know about availibility in the States, though. Happy Hunting!

And there's always the old standby from Monogram. There are usually a few floating around eBay.

Who makes the kit of Marvin?

Would really like to get one - Do you happen to know if they also make a kit of his four legged sidekick?

Wasn't the Mono kit 1/72 scale. I'm pretty sure I had one a long, long time ago.Big Smile [:D] As far as the Arii/Otaki question, I never had any Otaki kits that I remember.

Arii, Otaki, Airfix. They just seem to pass the molds around.

The Hasegawa Hellcat is still in production. If you go to www.squadron.com, they have it in their January flier. It's $25.00 and has British markings.

Has anyone built the Hasegawa F6F Essex kit? I am thinking about getting it and was curious about it.

The only part of the kit I had to "fiddle with" was the attachment of the drop tank. The supports are a little short. Other than that, the kit was a pleasure to build. If its an F6F-3, make sure that you have a good bond with the windows on the spine behind the cockpit. They attach from inside, and if they fall in, getting them back in position is impossible without opening the fuselage.
Hope this helps.

Great Models shows it in their catalogue, AF5108 at 13.55 U.S., and the box painting is RN markings.

The Airfix 1/48 Hellcat is a rebox of the old Otaki/Arii kit. Not a bad kit but not in the same league as Hasegawa's.

I should pick up a Hasegawa kit while I'm here in Japan. I seen one at my favorite shopping place for 1800 Yen ( about $18!! ) :)
