About all I've been able to come up with so far are a set for a F-15C out of Elmendorf, in 1/48th, by TwoBobs - 48-052. http://twobobs.net/
I've used their decals quite a bit and can recommend them highly.

Glad to be of help... I know the feeling, every time I look at TwoBobs I start getting ideas about projects and the wife eyes the kitchen knives! They do put out a good product, like I said before, and they have free shipping!

Phantom,
Yeah, I am looking to make this the most realistic F-15E that I can. However, what I probably will do is to get the F-15C sets, and then try to "build" the markings for the aircraft, unless somebody like Twobobs comes out with an E set for the 90th. It's kind of cool, I have lived up in Alaska for 15 years, and I did not know the squadron number up here, and I have been to Elemendorf several times. I still see the F-15's flying around, too. That really is the inspiration for the model.

Dick McC,
My wife gave me the "eye" when I told her that it is free shipping, and something about a long time, and a cold day soemwhere before I get some more decals.
Thanks everybody!

Hey RELUCTANT & PHANTOM.
Just a suggestion. Try and contact Two Bob's. They are always looking for ideas for new sheets.
They came to the Fort Smith Air Guard base and took loads of pics and did a sheet for the 188th Fighting Razorbacks.
Like I said. Just a thought.

I'm currently assigned up here in Alaska and see the mudhens (F-15E's) and light greys (F-15C's) flying everyday. Too my recollection, other than the little pair of dice (the 90th FS slogon is "Pair-O-DIce") painted near the canopy rail and maybe simple lettering, I don't think there's much difference between the sqaudron markings. All of the F-15's at Elmendorf have AK on the tail, and there isn't much else to distinguish between the birds, other than the thin colored band at the tops of the tails. Now I'm thinking you could paint these bands red, use the Elmendorf F-15C decals and would make out just fine.

Thank Everybody!Big Smile [:D]
ChopperFan-That is a really good idea.Yeah!! [yeah]Thumbs Up [tup] I think that I will do that, especially since Two Bobs is discontinuing their oth 1/48 F-15E set. It would cool to have a set of F-15Es available still. But I think that Salbando's info is extremely valuable, too.
Salbando-Bow [bow]Thanks for all your info.Cool [8D] I really appreciate it. I am not downing your idea on the F-15C, I think I might get a set as well a write to the companySmile,Wink, & Grin [swg] .
Thanks Again everybody for all your help.
Now,Oops [oops]Sign - Off Topic!! [#offtopic]Mischief [:-,]can anybody tell me, if it is not too sensitive of information to put over the open channels, What ordiance would be appropriate for the Alaskan Mudhens?Question [?]

Hey Everybody!

Cool News and a Doh! moment!

Look at the TwoBobs "Babe of the Week" for this week(11 Jan 04). It's an Alaskan Bird from the 19th FS based at Elmendorf.Cool [8D] Off Topic, I know, but I thought that it is cool that an Alaskan Gamecock is featured on the site.
I wrote an E-mail to Two Bob's expressing my interest in a set for the 90th, but I wish that I had written it before he went TDY.Banged Head [banghead]. Oh Well, Firstly, I don't know when that was, but maybe next time. Anyway, Hasppy modeling to everybody,a nd enjoy the pics.
God Bless!
Anthony

Reluctant Wanderer,
First off I love the handle. With as many TDY's as I've done (and some to not so nice places), I should have used that handle.
Anyway, The F-15E's up here from the 90th FS "Pair-O-Dice" are affectionately known as "Mudhens" or "Dark Greys". The F-15C's being known as "Light Greys". I've seen the Mudhens up here carry everything but the kitchen sink. They usually carry a couple AIM-9's for self-protection, LANTIRN including both the AN/AAQ-13 navigation pod and AN/AAQ-14 targeting pod on the forward lower intake mounts, and just about every PGM there is in the inventory. They also carry dumb bombs, usually MK82 & MK84. BLU-109 & BLU-113 penetrater bombs. Cluster bombs CBU-55/58/87/89/97 and MK20 Rockeyes. I won't bore you with the details but some CBU's are anti-personnel, some anti-armor, some mines, and some a combo of any and all. Air to ground missiles AGM-65 Mavericks (although I've never seen this) AGM-130 which is a rocket assisted GBU-15, AGM-136/137/154(JSOW)/158(JASSM). GPS guided bombs GBU-15/24 & GBU-29/30/31/32 JDAMs. Laser guided bombs GBU-10/12/16/24 & GBU-28 bunker busters. And lastly GBU-15 TV or IR guided bombs.
SO you can see, you almost can't go wrong with your ordinance choices for the ole' Mudhen.

Hey Salbando-
Thanks, There's a long story in why I picked my handle, but it basically is like TDYs, I never plan to journey, but end up doing it anyway. But so does a lot of people, especially those in the military. But I love your insignia graphic that you use. It is really cool. Isn't that for the Para-Rescue?
Anyway, thanks for all the info on the ordinances. Cool [8D] Sounds almost like they load the "Mudhens" like supersonic A-10's, and it sounds typical for Alaska, be ready for the worse that anybody can dish put, and give it right back to them!Evil [}:)]. Now the only thing is to figure which combination that I want to choose.Evil [}:)]Laugh [(-D]. Thanks.

Actually it's the old "Pregant Angel" and represent's USAF Combat Search and Rescue in general. I'm currently with the Rescue Squadron here in Alaska and spent most of my time in the PJ section.
Did you hear about our mission last weekend? We were having our welcome home get together on base at the hangar, when the beepers went off. We went out in an HH-60G and performed a night hoist recovery for a 55 year old woman who nailed a tree doing 45 on her snowmachine. Compound fracrure of her right femur, and we were worried about that possibly cutting into her femoral artery. Long story short, we did four hoists and brought her and her husband to Providence. Got back to the hangar in time for the cake.
The mudhens up here have deployed to Al's Garage (Al Karj AB in Saudi), and Turkey as well as flying missions over Afghanistan. They weren't there when we were but they do get around.
If you want we could hook up and I'll take you on base. That way you could see them on the flightline.

Salbando-
Thank You for your offer! I would be very honored to accept your offer. If you like, you can e-mail me, and we can work out the details. My e-mail address is atlee-2000@gci.net. Thank you again.Big Smile [:D]
I did hear something about your adventure there. Seems to me that there was something on the news about that. I am glad that you could get them out both alive, considering the risk. That's cool, though. I wish that more people could hear about the the "Missions of Mercy" and the SAR aspect of the military. what an important role you unsung heroes play, especially to people like that lady and her husband, who would have just died, if not for you. My father is a retired Corpsman from the Navy(part of the reason that I took on R-W as my handle.), and his job touch the lives of hundreds of people through the healing and help that he, another unsung hero, brought. Thank you for being there.
You are the coolest!!Cool [8D]
I don't know what the policy is for putting names on the planes, but I would like to name my Mudhen "Elizabeth", in honor of my daughter that was born today. Her initials almost spell "EAGLE" (well, EGEL), and what better aircraft to put the name on than an F-15. But that's just a thought

R-W,
No problems partner. I'll e-mail you in a couple days, since I'm pulling alert for the next 4 days.
I love the SAR business peacetime or combat it's a great mission. But we're all just a small piece of a big puzzle. Not real big on the noteriety, especially since the media get it wrong almost everytime, but there's nothing like the feeling you get when you look the survivor in the face and tell them "don't worry, we're gonna take care of you now...you're gonna be allright". Too bad they don't all end up happy missions, but you can't dwell on the bad.

Not a lot of nose art these days, except for in theater. Then you see it quite often. We've got "Let's Roll" on the nose of one of our Pavehawks in memory of 9/11. I'm sure you could get away with a small piece of nose art if you were a mudhen driver. Put it on the model!

Hey Salbando,
You are very welcome. I look forward to hearing from you.
"Capt. Anthony Lee, better known as the Reluctant Wanderer, part of the 90th FW based out of Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, AK, and his CWO Capt. Thomas Johnson, know as Highway Patrolman, returning from another mission in their mount, Elizabeth, after another successful sortie..."Approve [^]
That really is the best part of modeling, makling you dreams 3D. Now just finding type small enough to put my name and whatever name I can come up with for my CWO on the aircraft. Laugh [(-D]
Coolness.
