Revell B-26 and Bob Steinbrunn Questions
Posted by DrCemento on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 1:13 PM

I posted the same Question in the Intro/ general section but figured there might be a few people with longer memories milling around here. Bob steinbrunn's a pretty common name around FSM. I'll never ever forget his Portfolio in November 1990's Issue which i dug up back at my parents place recently - this article stoked me out on modeling 1/48 Warbirds so much! But it was always such a teaser - i saw that collection behind bobs photo! My searches on the net come up with a few articles by him here and there but no web site or anything! Surely theres some sort of site with his stuff posted - This guy owned IMPS contests for years! Anybody got any Ideas?
My other Question Involves a model I wanted to build for years (ever since I saw Bobs actually... Monogram stopped making the B-26 Marauder awhile ago and I thought all was lost then I found revells !/48th kit the other day ... anybody know if it was made from the same molds as the monogram kit or is it more reminiscent of the older revel kits --- in other words a major project waiting to happen ? Any advice is appreciated thanks everyone!

Revell and Monogram swap molds on a regular basis - yes, it's the same mold.

If you want to talk to Bob, he hangs out at the Modelwarships.com forum...

I have that kit and it's pretty good. Unfortunately there aren't any superdetailing sets for it. I would recommend it though, especially with some of the aftermarket decals that are around.
