Trying to get Tamiya old F-15A (1/48) Done for the western Canada model show, The only major problem is the cockpit is just awful, There nothing to see or detail what so ever, I wanted to try to added component to the cockpit to make it more interesting. Any tips or link for scratch building the cockpit.
Also the kit isn't clear paint scheme, I had to use pictures online for clarity. Its Overall light sea Grey with medium blue patterns. But is there any medium blue on the belly of the aircraft or just the top?

Can't help with the interior details but light sea gray and medium blue are just wrong....
Start by painting the aircraft overall Light Ghost Gray (FS 36375) and apply the camo pattern on the upper surfaces in Dark Ghost Gray (FS 36320). The heat resistant areas around the engines are a light metallic gray/dull silver colour.
When first introduced in the 1970s, the F-15a was painted overall Air Superiority Blue. This scheme had a short life however and was quickly replaced by the Ghost Grays that lasted until the 90s and the current Mod Eagle colors.
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

Hey T-rex,
As for adding detaill... I am not sure if your comfortable with using resin but Black Box hasa cockpit set for the Hasegawa Eagle. With a bit of dry fitting and sanding, it would work.
But if scratch building is it.. Use some evergreen sheet stock to make boxes and then then evergreen plastic rod for switches and the like.
The interior colour was in the order of medium grey/light ghost grey. The back portion of the avionics bay was a metaliic blueish green.
At the moment I can not think of a link for scrtch building but these pix might help..
As for the colour scheme.. The early Eagles where in a Light Ghost/Dark Ghost Grey scheme.
You can also find at your local hobby shop or squadron, reference books.. Squadrons In Action(dont know # off hand), Walk Around(#28) and Verlinden Publicatioin Lock On(#4)
Hope this helps you out or puts ya into the right direction!! Would love to see the build once done and good luck at the show!!

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger
Dark ghost grey, oh course, I couldn't tell clearly because of the box instruction. The kit is dated 1979 and most of the details are bleak, In fact the landing gears are empty (which is why I did it in flight mode, and I'll be lucky if I get it done in time, but it will be worth the effort.
Scorpiomikey Hope that helps for the cockpit
Umm... That's an F-16 cockpit, not an F-15.
T-Rex,
Actiually, lack of detail in the gear bays is not a huge issue, as the gear bay doors close after the gear is extended. They can be opened on the ground for maintenance/servicing, but they are usually closed (apart from those required to be open to allow the legs to protrude), This includes the longer of the nose gear doors.
oops, shoulda clicked with the side stick. Found it labeled as F-15 A/B cockpit. Oh well. just ignore my contributions
