Reminds me of when I made a P-47 razorback out of the Monogram bubble-top kit and a Hawk razorback deck, and the following year Monogram came out with a razorback!

Luckily I did't build my Koster vac Do-217 before Pro Modeler's kit came out! Smile [:)]

no, its actuallya like this

just before you finish scratchbuilding one, a vacuform comes out. just before you finish it, a resin one comes out. just before you finish that, a limited run. then a crappy injection, then a trumpeter/tamiya.

It's like a rain dance for modellers.

Sweat blood working on some poor quality, high input kit, and then...........

You know the rest.

Hey Swanny I know how you feel, I busted my butt on making the Monograms F-111A to look correct and did alot of scraych work on the cockpit and then Academy releases the kit a year later and talk about about climbing the walls

Swanny
Always seems to happen that way. But by the same token, just 'cause they said they were going to produce it doesn't mean they're going to. I mean, how many times have you seen a manufacturer put out a list of kits they are going to produce in the next year, and then two or three are postponed or cancelled (usually the two or three you really wanted).
I've gotten to the stage that I don't believe it until I have it in my grubby little hands.

The Condor in a model shop near you......I am so happy.
By the way....I planned to buy the Warrior resin PZL P-24 kit before Xmas, seen the Mirage release, decided to wait for it...but it is apparently delayed. In the meanwhile the Warrior kit is soldout.
So if the Mirage kit doesn't show up, as a rumour is growing, I am going to hit myself...

Swanny, if I was you I wouldn't have any regrets. Your work is first rate and you must take some satisfaction in doing it the hard way.

That's one of the reasons I don't buy conversion kits. I'll probably never build everything I want to build, so if I want it, I'll wait. I can always find something to build in the meantime.

Reminds me of my Dad. He spent a lot of money on a resin ME-410 and ordered it all the way from the Czech Republic, and waited ages to get it. He built it, and when he was about finished with it what did Promodeler announce...a 1/48 ME-410! I saw that one coming and I still laugh when I think about it.

It's good to know that I'm not alone!

It seems like it happens to me with resin kits all the time.

Doesn't it always go that way? Just when ya wrap up a major conversion or scratchbuild (not that I do any!), and somebody cranks out an excellent, affordable kit...I think they actually have spies...

Here I spend five months slaving over the Koster 1/48 vac FW-200, just finished it two months ago and what does Trumpeter do? Decides to release a 1/48 injection molded Fw-200C-4. Go figure. Only consolation is that I did mine as a C-8.Dead [xx(]
