Hey, Calzone4life!
I did some "Google-ing" and all i could come up so far for you was a vague reference to the ETF-51D...

Apparently, the TP-51D was a regular P-51D that was factory converted ino a 2-seater, dual control conversion, armed trainer. This aircraft was later redesignated the TF-51D in 1948. The ETF-51D that you're looking for is a conversion of the TF-51D for shipboard landing tests. I'm affraid there may only be one of those in existence, but i'm not sure. I will keep my eyes open. Big Smile [:D]

Anybody know a good reference to the ETF-51D? In case you don't know what it is, it is the experimental version of the P-51 that was used for carrier trials. I'm trying to find photos and other info about the prototype so I can customize a 1/48 scale p-51 and convert it. I'm thinking of giving it 1944 navy colors with the dark sea blue, intermeadiate blue and gull gray. How does that sound?
