Again just for reference, the Airfix PBY-5A 1/72 kit # 05007-6, had (old kit) bubbles that could be assembled in either postion.

just for reference, the Windows slid in and then up. Also, the crew tended to keep the windows closed dunring transit because of the drag the open windows caused. [:) I'd love to see what this will look like in 1/72!!]

Well, it looks like I found a possible source for cutting and painting the Blisters

This is a 1/48th scale Monogram. With luck I will be able to emulate it.

I'm lucky, I built another one a while back (the version without the landing gear). I had used regular old Testors glue, so it was brittle and falling apart. Thus I have two sets of bubbles, incase I mess up Smile [:)]

The cover art shows a bubble that could open for the machine guns.

I'm going to have to get a hobby saw now.

Ngc, This is the Academy 1/72 PBY-5A? I'm almost done with the PBY-5 and i compared the blister windows to a squadron walkaround and they are more or less the way they would look when the plane is on the ramp or in transit. I may have missed something. I'll check into an aftermarket kit for the PBY-5A, but i doubt that they'll have it in 1/72 so you may just have to cut it open and do it your self. Smile [:)]

The Catalina that I have with the two machinegun ports on the sides is not accurate. Does someone make those bubbles so they can be in an open possition or is that something I would have to do.
