The PSP is actually a resin base made by Verlinden for 1:48 scale planes....

Nice work ! The setting definately has that "used" look. The extras on the base are a nice touch.
Couple of questions : which kit is that? What did you use for the NMF?

The kit is the Accurate Miniatures P-51C with Aires cockpit details....and I used Alclad II aluminum for the paint job-- my first airbrush work. Thanks again!

Great-looking plane, Jeeves!! And your first airbrush job, also, huh? Why is it that everybody else's first airbrush jobs look so great on this site, but MY first airbrush job looked like %&*##4?? Keep up the GREAT work on your modeling!

By the way, how did you like using Alclad? I've seen it at the hobby shop, and have read good things about it, but I've never used it. Is it better than Model Masters paint?

Really nice. The oil stains underneath the mat are a nice touch. I like the look of those old Mustangs with the door, not as elegant, but neater somehow. Excellent job all around.

Frosty-- I look forward to seeing pics of your project-- let me know if you need anything else-- I bought a few Tuskegee books and got a couple DVDs for Christmas as well....

garydmason-- I liked Alclad...it was the priming part that was a pain in the ..... well anyways-- I had to deal with some orange peel and it still isn't 100% in my book-- but the paint was easy to use- albeit it did go on very thin....never used Model Masters in the airbrush so I am not sure...

AJACKETSFAN-- the nose band and insignia were part of the Three Duys Tuskegee Airmen in Italy set-- but I custom painted black over the white on it....made the nose art and was able to print it with Ed's help...and the fuselage codes are also custom jobs for Col. Dart's plane.
