1/32 Revell F-15C question
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, January 9, 2004 8:32 AM
Does anyone know if there's a replacement for the awful smoke-tinted windscreen/canopy that comes with this kit? It's an older kit, but on first glance, it looks OK. Anything I should know about the kit?
Thanks, Scott

There are some good points and bad about this kit. The worst is the instrument panel is all wrong. The C model F-15 doesn't have the "glass cockpit" instrumentation and should look like an -A model instrument panel. I don't know of any after market parts execpt for a Waldron placard set for the cockpit and you can get an acesII seat from CAM. You might be able to repace the clear sprues with a Tamiya F-15C set but you'll need the kit and part number to be able to get them direct from Tamiya. I got replacements for an -E pretty cheaply. I don't know if the frame comes with that or not.
Not bad detail for it's time and the decals are from a unit I was in. (318th Fighter Interceptor Squadron the "Green Dragons" McChord AFB WA)
Good Luck

Chasblake99, thanks for the help! I may try to get one from Tamiya. I hadn't thought of that.

Garydmason, I tried Squadron, but no luck. Plastic you say? Huh. I thought it was made of Kiss-My-Butt-ium

Scott,

Only YOU would think that...... I'm surprised that you've even HEARD of plastic. No, wait a minute. Most of your girlfriends are made of that, aren't they? And they come with their own inflators, if I remember correctly....... Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Evil [}:)]Smile [:)]

Did you finish the A-6 yet? Thought not.............

You're right about only one thing. The A-6 isn't done yet. So sue me. How about your two year Eagle? hmmm?
By the way, unlike yours, my girlfriends don't have to be sheared in the spring. Baaaad Gary, Baaaad.
